“The Common European Framework of Reference for Language is concerned with evaluating the progress of proficiency achieved in a foreign language. The goal is to create a standard for acquiring foreign language skills and compare the various European language certificates among one another. The CEFR divides users into three broad categories:  A: Basic users; B: Independent users; C: Proficient users. These categories are then broken down into a total of 6 language levels.” (www.europaeischer-referenzrahmen.de)
